Hammered patinated copper 4mm bangle, connecting us to our strong female ancestors...
A discovered body of a Warrior Queen, on Bryher in the Isles of Scilly was the inspiration behind this collection of Iron age style copper jewellery. When the body was discovered in 1999 it was assumed it had been an important male ruler, as it had been buried with a sword, and mirror (used in battle) and high status, meaningful jewellery. It was only 24 years later when they tested the teeth of the body that they realised she was a woman.
The bangle is 4mm wide, patinated to look ancient, like they've just been dug up. Size small fits a hand sized 20.5cm, medium 21cm, large 21.5cm, extra large 22: I can make them to fit you excatly if you can measure your hand accurately in cm around the widest part which is usually just below the base of your thumb.
All my jewellery is carefully sent to you via Royal mail in recycled and recyclable packaging
