Long copper necklace, based on Iron age Celtic jewellery with raw amber, jet recycled glass and agte beads: a true statement piece to connect to our strong female ancestors...
A discovered body of a Warrior Queen, on Bryher in the Isles of Scilly was the inspiration behind this collection of Iron age style copper jewellery. When the body was discovered in 1999 it was assumed it had been an important male ruler, as it had been buried with a sword, and mirror (used in battle) and high status, meaningful jewellery. It was only 24 years later when they tested the teeth of the body that they realised she was a woman.
It's 100cm long and as well as the stone and glass beads it feature charms based on found Celtic jewellery symbols such as the cycle of life spiral: this is a one-off piece.
